In November 2023, the STAY project reached an important coordination milestone with the formation and activation of its Expert Group — a dedicated team of representatives from each partner organisation tasked with guiding the development of key project deliverables.
Expert Group Formation – 11 November 2023
The Expert Group was officially established on 11 November 2023, in collaboration with the project’s academic partner, Università degli Studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale (UNICAS). Each project partner appointed one expert to join the group, ensuring a broad and diverse perspective rooted in practical field experience and local knowledge.
This group serves as a steering body for content development, especially related to the project’s core topics such as youth dropout, athlete retention, and creating supportive club environments. Their role includes reviewing progress, providing feedback, and co-developing materials that will be shared across the EMCA network and beyond.
First Expert Group Meeting – 21 November 2023
The first meeting of the Expert Group took place on 21 November 2023, focused on:
- Presenting good practices collected from within the partner network
- Evaluating current project progress
- Planning upcoming focus groups to gain deeper insights from athletes, coaches, parents, and volunteers
Partners discussed existing challenges and exchanged ideas on what has worked in their local settings, laying the groundwork for meaningful conversations with club communities in the following months.
This collaborative approach helps ensure that the project outputs, including the Good Practices and Recommendations Report and the E-learning platform, are rooted in real-world needs and practical, tested solutions.
